Community Photos

We are in the process of remodeling our schoolhouse at 9000 Georgian Drive. The school will boast all new roofing, flooring, wiring, HVAC, plumbing, flooring, paint, and a commercial kitchen.  We fully inspected for and removed asbestos tiles siding. It is our intention that our school be a safe and beautiful place for our community.

Here are some images of the renovation process:

Roof is off!
Back Porch before the deck is built.
Finally the wall is out, I was so excited to see the full classroom.

As you can see, we still have a ways to go, but since these photos were taken, all the HVAC, siding, and plumbing have been laid, and just need inspected before we can close everything up and do the finishing work!

Our large backyard outdoor environment has a playhouse, large sandbox, rocker, swing, rings, garden beds, a giant set of building blocks, a water table, and lots and lots of loose parts for imaginative play.  *We’re ordering mulch for under the climbing dome.

We will play rain or shine, barring lightning in the area, or temperatures so cold that the rain will make us miserable.

Learning the skills to do practical things is so innately rewarding, but also builds children’s coordination, independence, sense of order, and concentration.

The Montessori curriculum is designed to develop all the senses.

Dr. Montessori and those who have followed her have designed beautiful concrete materials for academic learning as well, understanding the importance of following the child’s development and interests, and sharing our own excitement in learning.

Montessori is the education of the whole child; physical, social-emotional, artistic, musical, and more. As such, our prepared environment is designed to meet each of these needs in each child, academic, social, physical, sensory, behavioral, and perhaps most important, the need for belonging and love from caring, competent adults.
